In November of 2000, after a lean year in our construction
business, Christmas was rapidly approaching with not much
budget for gifts. Grabbing a few pieces of old 1x4 fencing
and my $80 chop saw, I started putting together some of the
most horrifying barn wood frames you could imagine. That
chop saw would not cut the perfect miter that I was looking
for, leaving ugly gaps at every corner. Discouraged and
ready to give up, I went into the house and forlornly showed
my wife the fruits of my labor. She said the frames would
look really nice if we could just cover up the corners.
